One such device, usually associated with connection to a single computer, is a printer. However, thanks to the USB port on your router, your printer can become a fully networked device available to all family members.

Many modern printer models support network operation. This means that instead of being tied to one workstation, it becomes a shared resource. If your printer supports this feature, all you need to do is connect it to the router’s USB port. After configuring the appropriate settings, any gadget connected to your home Wi-Fi network — whether a laptop or a smartphone — will be able to see the printer and send print jobs to it. Usually, this address will look something like \\192.168.0.1\share. This will allow you to conveniently manage files, copy, move, and edit them directly over the network.

It is important to note that some internet providers, especially those offering services via mobile networks, may limit the functionality of such options on their branded routers. Therefore, creating a home file server will not always be available on all types of devices. However, for most home routers, this feature is fully workable.
