$4.46 Billion: Ukraine’s IT Exports Reached 12% in 2026
IT exports have become a key driver of the Ukrainian economy: $4.46 billion in 8 months of 2026
Ukraine’s IT sector continues to demonstrate steady growth, providing a significant share of foreign currency inflows to the national economy. In the first eight months of 2026, Ukraine earned $4.46 billion from IT service exports, which accounts for 12% of total exports of goods and services.
Thus, almost every eighth dollar Ukraine receives from foreign trade comes from the IT industry. This indicator shows the critical role of the technology sector in supporting the Ukrainian economy amid ongoing challenges.
According to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, IT export volumes have returned to the level of the same period last year, 2025. However, the sector has still not reached its peak in 2022, when IT service exports grew by 9% in the first 8 months.
The IT sector is the leader in service exports
IT services are not only a powerful exporter in the overall trade of goods and services, but also dominate the structure of service exports. In January-August 2026, total service exports amounted to $10.9 billion, which is 6% more than in the same period of the previous year.
The IT sector’s contribution to this figure is impressive: it accounted for 41% of total service exports. This means that almost every second dollar Ukraine earns from selling services abroad is generated by IT companies.
Goods exports remain the foundation, but IT is gaining momentum
Despite the IT sector’s significant achievements, goods still make up the main share of Ukrainian exports. In the first 8 months of 2026, goods exports reached $24.9 billion, or about 70% of total exports of goods and services. Overall, during this period, Ukraine exported goods and services worth $35.8 billion, a figure that changed little compared with the previous year.
Despite the dominance of goods exports, the growing share of IT services in the overall export structure highlights their increasing importance and potential for the further development of the Ukrainian economy.
